The International and Asian Rugby Federation approved, today, Thursday, the Iraqi Rugby Federation elections, which were held in Baghdad.
The President of the Federation, Abdullah Hazaa, said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "the International Federation of the Game sent us a letter stating the approval and blessing of our federation's elections, as well as the approval and blessing of the Asian Federation for the elections that were held under his supervision of the Ministry of Youth and Sports.".
He pointed out "the importance of this step with the Iraqi Federation completing all its papers after becoming a member of the General Assembly of the Iraqi National Olympic Committee after gaining confidence from the Olympic federations.".
He added, "The next step will be to work on upgrading, developing and spreading rugby in Iraq through the application of its curriculum, which includes holding training and arbitration courses in all governorates, as well as a plan that contributes to attracting athletes and establishing a solid base for age groups.".
