Cabinet General Secretariat announces cancelling all product protection decisions for three items

    The General Secretariat of the Cabinet revealed on Thursday, announced that the Cabinet decided to extend zeroing of customs duties on goods and to suspend work on import licenses for three items.

    "The paragraphs of the Cabinet resolutions (80 and 109 of 2022) within the Cabinet Resolution (155 of 2022), provided for the extension of the work of zeroing the customs duty on the necessary goods of foodstuffs, consumable building materials for a period of three months, and canceling all the issued decisions regarding product protection related to banning the import of food, consumer goods and medicines, and permitting their import, until 9/30/2022," the spokesman for the General Secretariat of the Cabinet Haider Majid told the Iraqi news agency(INA).
     
    "The decision was based on the presentation made by the head of the Border Ports Authority at the 21st ordinary session of the Cabinet, held on 7/6/2022, and based on the Iraqi Government's desire to provide food to citizens and curb surge pricing," Majid added.
