The General Secretariat of the Cabinet revealed on Wednesday, a plan to add projects for 6 sectors within the Iraqi-Chinese framework agreement.

"The Ministry of Planning is preparing a plan to add new projects to the Chinese agreement within (6) sectors, namely, infrastructure, bridges, education, health, water desalination and sewage, to complement other ongoing projects represented by Nasiriyah airport and school buildings," said the spokesman for the General Secretariat of the Cabinet Haider Majid, to Al-Iraqiya News TV, followed by the Iraqi News Agency - INA.

He added, "The agreement is built on a special fund that provides for the provision of oil in exchange for reconstruction, in which 100,000 barrels of oil are deposited daily, as it values are calculated according to the international oil prices, according to which China provides services for the implementation of projects requested by Iraq."

"The Iraqi government has opened up in the past two years to the international community, and Iraq witnessed holding conferences and summits for kings, leaders and heads of government, in which the Prime Minister stressed that the doors of Iraq are open for investment," he included.

Majid noted that, "this openness affected the agreement to form an Iraqi-Saudi coordination council and an Iraqi-Egyptian-Jordanian coordinating council, as these two councils included an agreement to implement projects in several sectors, for there are European countries that also submitted requests to implement projects in Iraq."
