Al-Ghazi : the government's keenness to create a suitable environment for returning IDPs to their homes

    The Secretary-General of the Council of Ministers, Hamid Al-Ghazi, affirmed on Wednesday , the government's keenness to create a suitable environment for the returning IDPs to their homes.

    "Al-Ghazi received the resident representative of UNDP in Iraq, Zina Ahmed," the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers stated in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA).

    The Secretary-General of the Council of Ministers reiterated, according to the statement, "the Iraqi government's keenness to completely close the file of the IDPs, after securing a safe and voluntary return for them, in conjunction with providing basic services in the liberated areas, in addition to creating an appropriate environment for their integration into society and removing traces and ideas of ISIS terrorist gangs."

    The statement noted that "the two sides reviewed the most important programs implemented in the liberated areas during the previous phase, and developed future plans to complete the process of restoring the stabilization effort, as well as preparing for the meeting of the Steering Committee of the Reconstruction Fund, and working on approving the safe exit strategy for the program."

    Ahmed praised, according to the statement, "the Iraqi government's effort in providing financial budgets to support the international effort during the previous years, and the role of the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers, in supervising the implementation of plans and programs in the liberated areas."
