Halbousi: the Parliament continuing to legislate a law banning normalization with the Zionist entity

    Parliament Speaker Muhammad al-Halbousi confirmed today, Saturday, that Parliament is proceeding with legislation prohibiting normalization with the Zionist entity. 

    Al-Halbousi said in his speech during the 33rd extraordinary emergency conference of the Arab Inter-Parliamentary Union, according to a statement by his media office received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "Here are the events confirm that we are facing great and qualitative challenges that require all of us to take a firm, decisive and real stance that rises to the level of necessity and need. 

    He added: "The escalation has reached extremes that cannot be tolerated, neglected, or delayed, and today, as representatives of the will of our peoples, we bear moral and religious responsibility before political and official responsibility, and we are called upon by chivalry  before interest and need, and conscience before duty." This emergency meeting in its thirty-third season coincides with the recent events of the occupied land, and the dangerous escalation practiced by the Zionist occupation forces.

    He continued, "The heinous crime of premeditation, surveillance and intent in the assassination of the brave and martyred journalist Sherine Abu Aqleh, who has become an icon of sacrifice and honor in the press and media," stressing that "
    Al-Halbousi stated: "The Iraqi parliament has taken its courageous decision to proceed with legislation prohibiting normalization with the usurping and occupying Zionist entity as a real and clear reflection of the will of the Iraqi people, who for decades have considered the Palestinian issue at the top of their national and Islamic priorities."
