Al-Zamili directs MPs of the parliamentary committees to hold a meetings

Deputy Speaker of the parliament, Hakim Al-Zamili directed on Wednesday, members of the parliamentary committees to hold the meetings starting next week.

"Al-Zamili announced the completion of the nomination and formation of all permanent parliamentary committees, by voting on the membership of the women and men MPs nominated for membership," according to the statement of the media office of the First Deputy Speaker of the parliament received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA).

Al-Zamili called on the members of the parliamentary committees to hold meetings starting next week, and to work on the legislative and oversight functions, after the parliament had completed the committees, and to work on the legislation that citizens expect from their representatives.

He stressed, "the vote came after discussions and meetings with the various heads and members of the parliamentary blocs, to present the names of candidates for committee membership, and that the selection came in accordance with the criteria of expertise, competence, professionalism."
