The Speaker of the Ukrainian parliament Ruslan Stevanchuk said today, Friday, that the President of the State, Vladimir Zelensky, signed the law "to remove the Soviet character from the legislation of Ukraine."
"President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky has signed the law" Abolishing the Soviet tendency of Ukrainian legislation," the parliament speaker wrote on his Facebook page.
The Speaker of Parliament expressed his thanks to his fellow People's Representatives who helped draft this law and voted for its adoption.
There is talk about changing the names of a number of laws and legal and economic terms. For example, the law is required to replace the phrase “national economy” with “the economy of Ukraine,” and others.
The decisions of the bodies of state power of the USSR and the Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic, with the exception of those relating to the sovereignty, borders and territorial structure of Ukraine, shall also cease to have effect.
