The Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced on Sunday, that the Chargé d'Affairs of the Swedish Embassy had informed Iraqi government of protest over burning of a copy of Holy Qur'an.
“Chargé d'Affairs of the Kingdom of Sweden in Baghdad, Hakan Roth Summoned on Sunday, and informed him of the Iraqi government's discontent, after a group of extremists headed by (Rasmus Baludan), burned a copy of the Holy Quran, in a manner considered provocative to feelings of Muslims and seriously offended sensitivity of their sanctities," ministry said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA).
The ministry urged " Swedish government to stop any acts of inciting the feelings of religious components, especially those that affect Islamic sanctities."
