The Iraqi Ministry of Transport announced Friday, that an earthquake was recorded in Kalar district in Sulaymaniyah.
The Iraqi Meteorological Organization and Seismology said in a statement, received by The Iraqi News Agency (INA)that" Its seismic observatories recorded an earthquake in Sulaymaniyah Governorate," as "the tremor was recorded at exactly 03:58:27 this morning local time, and its magnitude reached (3.6) degrees and is located 10 km southwest of Kalar district of Sulaymaniyah."
The statement added that "It has not been proven that citizens in the region feel it," calling on "citizens to take caution and avoid rumors and false news, and to abide by the seismic recommendations issued by the General Authority for Meteorology and Seismic Monitoring."
