Antiquities dealer arrested in Wasit

The Security Media Cell announced the arrest of antique dealer in possession of an antique statue and (60) gold coins in Wasit governorate.
 
The cell stated in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "through the continuous follow-up of the responsibility sectors, the Federal Intelligence and Investigations Agency in the Ministry of Interior was able to arrest one of the antiquities traffickers in Wasit Governorate, in flagrante delicto, and in possession of an antique statue and (60)". Coins all dated back to antiquity.
 
  "The arrest process took place after obtaining judicial approvals and forming a specialized team from the agency's detachments in the governorates of Anbar and Wasit, and luring the accused and arresting him, where he was arrested in accordance with the provisions of Article (44) of the Antiquities Law, according to the decision of the investigative judge."
