Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research (MOHESR) announced on Tuesday, that the Iraqi university obtained new international rankings.
The Iraqi universities and academic institutions have achieved significant competitive results in the 2022 Scimago World Rankings, which assessed 8084 institutions around the world, "MOHESR said in a statement received by Iraqi news agency (INA).
“The rank included 39 institution and Iraqi universities, including 28 government universities, topped by the universities of Baghdad, Mustansiriya and Technology, " The statement added.
The ministry pointed out that "Scimago's ranks are based on a composite index that combines three different criteria based on research performance (50%), Innovation (30%) and societal impact (20%), each main indicator includes sub-indicators such as the number of published research, the quality of published journals, the number of reference citations and relative impact, as well as requirements for publication of at least 100 SCOPUS searches within the evaluation year".
