Directorate of Mine Action in the Ministry of Environment counted Sunday the number of destroyed munitions since the start of the removal program.
The director of planning and follow-up in the directorate , Ahmed Al-Aboudi, told the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "The number of munitions that have been destroyed since the start of the removal program has reached 1091,536 pieces of ammunition."
DMA announced, earlier, that it was heading to contract with companies to support the national effort, while it revealed a project to remove the mine threat on 670 square kilometers, at a value of 500 billion dinars.
