The First Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hakim Al-Zamili, called today, Tuesday, on Turkey to increase water releases, while stressing that the strength of Iraq enhances the security and prosperity of neighboring countries and the region.
The media office of the First Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "the First Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hakim Al-Zamili, received in his office today, the Turkish ambassador to Iraq, Ali Reza Günay, to discuss outstanding issues and files of common interest."
Al-Zamili stressed that "the strength of Iraq would enhance the security and prosperity of neighboring countries and the entire region," noting that "the House of Representatives is determined to amend laws that facilitate the entry, exit and residence of investors inside the country."
Al-Zamili stressed the need to work on organizing the water file and consolidating security cooperation in a manner that preserves common interests, respect for sovereignty, and consolidate security and stability between the two neighboring countries.
For his part, the Turkish ambassador indicated "his country's support for the consolidation of bilateral relations between the two countries at all levels, including at the parliamentary level," expressing "Ankara's keenness to launch programs to support the private sector to provide job opportunities for Iraqi youth."
