The exceptional meeting of Opinion Board at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research began Sunday in the presence of the first deputy speaker of parliament, Hakim Al-Zamili.
The media office of the First Deputy stated in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "the exceptional meeting of the opinion board in the Ministry of Education and Scientific Research began in the presence of the First Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Hakim Al-Zamili, and Minister of Higher Education Nabil Kadhim Abdul-Sahib."
It added, "The meeting was held to consider a number of topics that were discussed during the hosting of the minister in the parliament."
The parliament, headed by First Deputy Hakim Al-Zamili, hosted the Minister of Higher Education, Nabil Abdel-Saheb, and the advanced cadre in the ministry last Wednesday.
Al-Zamili said in a session hosting the Minister of Education that "Iraqi universities are among the solid universities, and we are proud of that," noting that "hosting the Minister of Education was signed by a number of deputies for the sake of evaluating ministries and evaluating higher education, and we are supportive of education."
He added that "the current session differs from the previous ones," noting that "the internal departments before 2003 were a five-star hotel, but after that they became shameful."
Al-Zamili stressed that "there are many comments made by the deputies," noting that "the ministry's plan to reduce the academic seats for higher studies, and the students who have been suspended and the wages of private universities, will be discussed."
