Washington imposes sanctions on 328 Russian deputies and 48 companies

    United States announced the imposition of new financial sanctions against Russia, targeting politicians and companies operating in the defense sector and businessmen.

    The White House confirmed in a statement, that "the sanctions provide for the freezing of assets in the United States," noting that "these include 328 deputies in the Duma and the Russian House of Representatives, and 48 major public companies operating in the defense sector.".

    He added, "The sanctions include a complete ban on more than 400 people and entities, including members of the State Duma and other figures from the Russian elites and Russian defense companies.".

    For its part, the US Treasury indicated that "the sanctions specifically target the Tactical Sales Corporation, a Russian state defense conglomerate that spreads its weapons in Russia."
