Ministry of Migration and Displacement – MMD confirmed on Monday, the return of 24 Iraqi families from the Syrian al-Hol camp, after the rehabilitation and it was proven that there were no security indicators on them, while it collected the number of Iraqi children in the camp.
"Al-Hol Syrian camp is 13 km from the Iraqi border and is a home to 70.000 people, and unfortunately there are those inside it who promote for Daesh terrorist gangs," said the Undersecretary of MMD, Karim Al-Nouri to Al-Iraqiya News TV, followed by the Iraqi News Agency – INA.
He added, "Iraq succeeded in forming a governmental security committee to study the files of Iraqis there, sorting out those who do not have security and judicial issues, and we helped the return of 453 families who had no indications of Al-Jada camp 1 in Nineveh Governorate, and today, hours ago, 24 new families were returned to Iraq, specifically to Anbar after its rehabilitation, and before that, 74 families were returned from the camp,”
"There is international praise for Iraq's success in dealing with the file of the IDPs, and we are working continuously to address it in a humane manner," he included.
