Foreign Ministry spokesman Ahmed Al-Sahaf announced on Monday, the evacuation of 22 Iraqis from Ukraine.
"The consular section began its work at the embassy headquarters as 5 passports were granted," said Al-Sahhaf in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency – INA.
He noted, "In coordination with the members of the community, 22 Iraqis, including a family, were evacuated,"
Red Cross in Ukraine was approached and provided with the details of the missing Iraqi citizens, as well as the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry's approach yesterday regarding the missing citizen Qusay, aacording to Al-Sahaf.
“The embassy is still continuing its efforts in this regard,” he added.
