Baghdad-INA
The Director of Media and Relations at the Ministry of Interior (MOI), Saad Maan, confirmed Baghdad's readiness to host any sport event.
Baghdad is ready to host the match of our national team against its UAE counterpart in the qualifiers for the 2022 World Cup, said Maan in a statement to the Iraqi News Agency (INA).
Maan added, "Baghdad has previously hosted a friendly match for our national team against its Ugandan counterpart, which took place at the Madinah International Stadium and the match was successful in terms of security, and before that the final match of the West Asian Youth Championship took place and it also was 100 per cent a successful experiment.”
Maan pointed out that "MOI has deployed all its efforts to protect the security of stadiums and all its other resources to ensure the success of the national team's match against the UAE, which is scheduled to be held on March 24."
