Al-Halbousi receives official invitation to visit Iran

    Speaker of the Parliament Mohammed al-Halbousi received on Wednesday an official invitation to visit Iran.
     
    "Al-Halbousi received today the assistant of the president of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the head of the Martyr's Foundation Amir Hossein Ghazizadeh and his delegation," the media office of the Speaker of parliament said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), adding that "The meeting, which was attended by the president of the Martyrs' Foundation, Abdul Ilah Al-Naeli, discussed the joint memorandum of understanding, which included several items and mechanisms for cooperation and partnership between the two countries to serve the cause of martyrs, victims and their families”.
     
    "The legislature supports the memorandum of understanding, the work of the Martyrs' Foundation and everything that guarantees their rights, in order to value their sacrifices and serve their families," al-Halbousi said in the statement.
     
    For his part, the assistant of the president of the Republic of Iran "congratulated al-Halbousi on the occasion of his re-election as speaker of the parliament in his fifth session," conveying "greetings to President Ibrahim Raisi and Speaker of the Shura Council Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf to the Speaker of parliament."
     
    Al-Halbousi asked the president's assistant to convey conveyed his greetings to the Iranian president and the speaker of the Shura Council, thanking him for his "congratulations and the official invitation, which he promised to meet as soon as possible."
