Women Empowerment Dept.: Details of “You are safe” application

    General Secretariat of the Cabinet revealed on Saturday, the details of the application (You Are Safe / Anty Amna) for women, while it confirmed following-up with the Supreme Judicial Council to restore the courts concerned with family issues and open new ones, as it clarified the course of the Executive Council of the Arab Women Organization meeting. 

    "Executive Council of Women's Organization held on Saturday the first meeting in Baghdad in response to Iraq's call to discuss the amendment of the organization's law of origin and the conditions of women survivors as a result of conflicts and exposure to terrorism. An item was added to women who were displaced under occupation, as in the case of Palestine in it, for it was a distinct experience for Iraq by the adoption of the law of Yazidi survivors and the rest of the survivors from other components,” said the head of Women Empowerment Department of the General Secretariat of the Cabinet, Yusra Karim, to the Iraqi News Agency (INA).


    Karim added, "The Department of Women's Empowerment launched the second national plan for UN Security Council Resolution 1325, which discussed issues of women's protection, participation and protection, as well as the General Secretariat began coordinating with ministries and governorates to implement activities,”

    She pointed out that "the general secretariat issued its annual report on the national plan, and we have followed-ups with the Supreme Judicial Council, especially with the council's decision to bring back the courts concerned with family issues and open specialized courts for this aspect to take into account women and family issues,"
    "The department, in cooperation with the Ministry of Interior, took the initiative to rewrite the rules of conduct of the Internal Security Force and add the article on women and criminal justice to take into account the situation of women, especially in the stages of arrest, search and investigation,” she noted.

    She included, "We are currently working with the UNFP to create an application called (You are safe / Anty Amna), which provides a lot of supplies for women, especially those who suffer from domestic or external violence,”
