Minister of Communications Arkan Al-Shaibani announced today, Tuesday, the elimination of Internet capacitates smuggling within one year, while noting that the issue of transit would put Iraq on the right map.
Al-Shaibani said in his speech during Iraq Conference and Exhibition Towards Digital Transformation and Artificial Intelligence, which was attended by the correspondent of the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "The ministry worked to develop the communications sector, as Iraq's ranking on internet service was 138 globally and now it has become 47, and this is a real progress in this sector."
He added that "The smuggling of internet capacities was eliminated within one year, and the international capacities were doubled, in addition to the establishment of large projects.
He stressed that "the issue of Internet transit through Iraq will put the country on the right map," praising "the role of the Media and Communications Commission, as they are partners in all the successes."
