Al-Zamili, Russian ambassador affirm expansion of cooperation in three fields

    The First Deputy Speaker of the parliament, Hakim Al-Zamili, and the Russian Ambassador, Elbrus Kutrashev, confirmed today, Sunday, the expansion of cooperation in three fields.

     His media office said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) that "Al-Zamili received the Ambassador of the Russian Federation in Iraq, "Elbrus Kutrashev" and the delegation accompanying him, to discuss the latest political developments on the local and international arenas, and the developments of the Russian-Ukrainian situation.

    Al-Zamili stressed, according to the statement, "the need to expand bilateral relations between the two countries at all levels, foremost of which are security, economic, political and cultural, in a way that achieves the interests of the two countries," noting that "the conditions of the students and the Iraqi community in Russia were discussed."
     
    Al-Zamili called for "facilitating the procedures for granting visas to them and working to solve the problems they may face."

    In turn, Elbrus Kutrashev congratulated Zamili assuming the position of First Deputy Speaker of the parliament, expressing "his country's readiness to strengthen the relationship with Iraq and work together to overcome all challenges, especially economic and security, and advance cooperation between the two countries in a manner befitting the history and interests of the two friendly peoples."
