The Public Health Department of the Ministry of Health announced Tuesday the necessity of receiving the Corona vaccine, while indicating that the granting of a fourth dose is still unknown.

The Director of the Public Health Department, Riyad Abdul-Amir, told the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "most countries in the world, including Iraq, gave the third dose to citizens who had previously taken two doses of the vaccine, and that it is not yet known if there is a fourth dose for those vaccinated with three doses," noting that " Those who are hospitalized for treatment are not vaccinated against Corona, while the infections are mild for the vaccinated, which indicates the effectiveness of the vaccine.

He added, "The vaccine against Corona is still very necessary, and it is available in all health centers affiliated with the Ministry of Health," noting that "the mutations of the virus are not known during the next two years, and it is not known if the Omicron strain has mutated."

Abdul Amir pointed out that "the countries of the world are tired of the restrictions imposed by the Corona pandemic, and that most European countries have lifted restrictions depending on the vaccine."
