National Security Adviser Qasim Al-Araji announced today, Tuesday, the approval of Iraq's participation in the Counter-Terrorism Office platform.
The media office of the National Security Adviser stated in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) that "Al-Araji chaired the periodic meeting of the National Counter-Terrorism Committee, and during the meeting, the topics on the agenda were discussed and the necessary decisions and recommendations were taken."
He explained that "the subject of Iraq's presidency of the United Nations Committee on the United Nations Strategy and proposals for preparing legal formulations to fight terrorism and foreign terrorists was discussed."
Al-Araji stressed during the meeting, "the necessity of Iraq's participation and chairing of such committees, because of its experience in the field of combating terrorism, and for being the first responder to the threat of terrorism in the world, as well as for the sacrifices it made," stressing "the importance of the international community's support for Iraq."
