A large-scale security operation launched in Al-Adhaim

    the Diyala Operations Command of the Popular Mobilization announced Sunday the launch of a large-scale security operation from several axes to search and pursue ISIS remnants in Al-Adhaim Basin.

     The commander of Diyala operations for the Popular Mobilization Forces, Talib al-Moussawi, said, in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "the Popular Mobilization brigades and the formations supporting them launched this morning, a wide security operation to pursue ISIS remnants in Al-Adhaim Basin in its eastern and western parts."

     Al-Moussawi added, "The forces participating in the operation, the 23rd and 4th Brigade, the Diyala Brigade, and the Special Force of Diyala Operations Command, intelligence, artillery and explosive control services," noting that "the operation came to pursue ISIS remnants after the treacherous attack that affected the Iraqi army's heroes “,

    he explained, "The operation aims to tighten the cordon on Al-Adhaim river, noting that "the operations will continue despite the low temperatures, cold weather, hard terrain and difficult movement within the scope of operations.

     He continued, "The 52nd Brigade participated in the operation within the Kirkuk and East Tigris Operations Command of the Popular Mobilization and the River Regiment of the North Axis, with the aim of supporting the Diyala Operations Command forces and imposing a security cordon to prevent the infiltration of ISIS terrorists within the scope of operations in Hawi Al-Adhaim Basin."
