The Asian and international supervisor, Ahmed Al-Qteishat, confirmed today, Saturday, that the Iraq-Uganda match reflected Baghdad's readiness to host the matches, noting that the preparations of the match was successful and ideal.
Al-Qteishat, who oversaw the team's match, which took place Friday night at Al-Madina International Stadium in the capital, Baghdad, told the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "The match was perfect in all organizational, security and coordination aspects, and it is a message to the International Federation that Iraq is capable of hosting official international matches, in Baghdad, Basra, Karbala and Erbil.
"The Iraqi Football Fedration, the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the supporting security forces were at the highest levels of coordination for the success of this sporting mission that reflects the true picture of the reality of Baghdad," noting that "the friendly match was very ideal in all aspects, and the Union succeeded in it as it will be the best proof of Baghdad's readiness to host the matches," he also added.
