Uganda's national football coach, Micho, confirmed today, Thursday, on the eve of his team's friendly match with our national team tomorrow, that Iraq is capable of organizing international matches, pointing out that the country has better qualifications than 20 African countries in which international matches are held.
The Ugandan-Serbian national team coach Micho said, in the press conference held this evening at the headquarters of the Football Association for tomorrow's match and attended by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "I have found the welcome since my arrival in Iraq and I am very happy to be in Baghdad," adding: "I respect the various Iraqi titles." From the coach, the technical staff, the players and the public.”.
He continued, "I have knowledge of the Iraqi national team, as well as coach Zeljko Petrovic, because we are colleagues and from one country, and the match is a message that football is a message of love and peace, and I respect the Iraqi team, which is one of the ancient teams, and I appreciate the Iraqi fans who love football."
Micho said: "Our team is in the process of renewal, and after the 2017 African Cup, a new generation began for the Ugandan national team, and most of our players are young people who won the African Youth Cup title that was held last year in Mauritania.".
He pointed out that "the friendly match is useful for the two teams to try the most number of players, especially since the match is outside the days of FIFA and the professional players did not join us, and therefore the coaches have the opportunity to discover their players, and we attended a list of good and enthusiastic players.".
In his response, Micho said, "Iraq has the potential to host international matches, and even has better qualifications than at least 20 African countries in which international matches are held."
