Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Antiquities signed on Wednesday, a memorandum of understanding with the State Tourism Agency of the Republic of Pakistan in the field of tourism cooperation between the two countries.
"The memorandum was signed on the Iraqi side by the Minister of Culture, Tourism and Antiquities, Hassan Nadhim, and on behalf of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, the Pakistani ambassador, Ahmed Amjad Ali," according to a statement by the ministry, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA).
The statement included, "Signing the memorandum comes due to its importance in economic development for the benefit of the two countries, and within a legal framework to enhance cooperation in the field of tourism and development. It goes according to the rules of international and institutional law, by concluding direct contracts between the tourism institutions of the two countries, as well as training tourism staff by encouraging the two parties to exchange information about Investment opportunities, knowledge of tourism expertise training, development of staff working in the field of tourism and hotel management, as well as in the field of cooperation in international organizations,"
The two parties consult with each other in order to coordinate common positions and their divergence as that is appropriate, for it goes within the framework of international organizations, especially the World Tourism Organization.
As for tourism and hotel investment, the two parties exchange information and experiences in this field in the new tourist development areas, and in accordance with the in force laws and regulations in both countries, and each party has to take advantage of the investment opportunities available for tourism activity, in accordance with the legislation and laws in force in both countries.
In the field of education, training and exchange of experiences, both parties agreed to make every effort to encourage the exchange of information and experiences in the fields of tourism facilities, tourist accommodation, regional planning, transportation and communications, for the purposes of tourism and specialized education, provided that they generally encourage all forms of technical cooperation related to tourism that the two parties see fit their benefit, and the organization of training courses for workers in the field of tourism and hospitality is in accordance with the applicable in the two countries.
Both agreed to resolve the differences that arise as a result of the interpretation or implementation of any of the memorandum articles through negotiations, and when the two parties reach a solution, the issue is resolved through a coordination committee formed for this purpose.
