The Ministry of Culture announced today, Monday, a government move to include new Iraqi locations on the World Heritage List, while an invitation was sent to the Ministry of Water Resources regarding this file.
The Undersecretary of the Ministry, Imad Jassim, in a statement to the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "there is close cooperation with institutions and ministries, including the ministries of water resources and foreign affairs, in placing Iraqi places in various regions of the country on the World Heritage List, whether from the artistic or cultural aspect.
He explained, "The ministry has paid attention to all its institutions for more than a year to manage the file of listing places in the world heritage and joining the relationship with international organizations," noting that "there is a great welcome from the Iraqi expatriate organizations and to shed light on the civilized areas and places in the country."
