The Cabinet Secretariat: New project to combat desertification in three governorates

    The General Secretariat of the Cabinet issued today, Monday, a directive regarding model school projects, while announcing a project to combat desertification in three governorates.
     
     
    A spokesman for the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers, Haider Majid, said in a statement to the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "The current year will witness the launch of new projects that were included in the government plan last year," noting that "the projects included founding 1,000 model schools in all governorates, as the executive cadres at the General Secretariat has begun handing over the sites to the Chinese companies Tawergaima and Sintec, and according to the  direction of the Secretary-General of the Council of Ministers, the need to start implementation after the sites are handed over.
     
    Majid affirmed that "The project to develop and rehabilitate Nasiriyah International Airport, is one of the projects that have been referred to the companies and they started the work in it, in addition to the Dora-Yusofiya road project, which is a vital and important road, and the project to address salinity in the Euphrates River basin and the desertification, in the governorates of Diwaniyah, Muthanna and Dhi Qar".
     
    And he continued, "The cornerstone of Al-Zaytoon Suspended Bridge was laid, as well as founding a hospital with a capacity of 230 beds , two bridges in the Police District of Dhi Qar Governorate, in addition to the project of the local stadium in Nasiriyah with a capacity of 10,000 person," stressing, "The government set new a plan to include vital and strategic projects in Baghdad and the provinces to cover most of the important sectors."
