Iraq and Syria discussing railway link and issue of transit

The Minister of Transport, Nasser Hussein Al-Shibli, discussed with the Syrian ambassador to Iraq, Sattam Jadaan, the railway connection, the issue of transit, and the development of the reality of shipping between the two countries. 

A statement by the Ministry of Transport, stated that "the Minister of Transport, Nasser Hussein Bandar Al-Shibli, received the Ambassador of the Syrian Republic to Iraq, Sattam Jadaan Al-Dandah, in the ministry's office, during the meeting, several issues were discussed, including the rail link between Iraq and Syria." 

The statement added: "The issue of transit and recognition of the maritime certificate between the two parties and the development of the reality of shipping between the two brotherly countries were also discussed, in addition to discussing the opening of the air route between Baghdad and Damascus."
