Ancelotti explains the reasons for his verbal altercation with Pique 

Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti explained, today, Thursday, the reasons for his verbal altercation with Barcelona player Gerard Pique during the two teams’ match that took place yesterday, Wednesday, in the semi-finals of the Spanish Super Cup. 

Ancelotti indicated during a press conference after the match, that "he quarreled with Pique when he did not take the ball out of play when Vinicius Junior fell injured," noting that "he was angry with him and that he told him that he needed to remove the ball.". 

He added, "Pique told me that they never took the ball out in such situations, and I apologized because I did not know it," stressing, "He respects the club's decision to continue playing and not take the ball out, and that he did not know that.". 

Real Madrid had qualified for the final of the Spanish Super Cup, which is currently being held in Saudi Arabia, after beating Barcelona by three goals to two.
