The Ministry of Migration and Displacement announced the development of a long-term plan for the displaced, while confirming the possibility of disbursing the financial grant to the returning displaced.
The spokesman for the Ministry, Ali Abbas, told the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "the ministry is proceeding with its plan to return the displaced and close the displacement file," noting that "the plan may be annual or for more than a year, and the first stage is 2021, the ministry has made great strides and will move within a year 2022 in the same direction and the steps that worked previously, which need to be compatible with the government program of the new government."
He added, "We developed a long-term plan through the National Plan for the return of the Displaced, and it was approved by the Council of Ministers," noting that "the long-term plan takes three to four years to rehabilitate, restore, and organize the situation of the displaced returning to their areas and their integration into society."
With regard to the financial grant, Abbas confirmed that "the financial grant depends on the budget, and therefore the budget depends on approval and government formation."
