Al-Halbousi opens candidacy for the post of President of the Republic, and the first session adjourns

The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Muhammad al-Halbousi, announced, this evening, Sunday, the opening of the nomination for the position of President of the Republic, while the first session of the Parliament was adjourned, and the second session will be scheduled at a later time.

Al-Halbousi said in a speech, which was followed by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "the nomination period for the post of President of the Republic extends for 15 days, and on the last day the voting session for the candidates takes place."
