The Secretary-General of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC), Muhammad Barikindo, arrived today, Thursday, in the capital, Baghdad, on a visit during which he will meet with a number of officials.
The media office of the Ministry of Oil stated in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "the Secretary-General of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) arrived in the capital, Baghdad," noting that "the Secretary-General will meet during his visit to Iraq a number of officials in the government and the Ministry of Oil.".
The statement added, "Barkindo will also visit a number of historical sites and holy shrines, in addition to the People's Hall building in Baghdad, which hosted the organization's founding meeting in 1961."
