The Ministry of Health made the first comment after announcing the registration of infections with the new Corona mutant "Omicron", while confirming that there are two ways to deal with this danger.
The spokesman for the Ministry of Health, Saif Al-Badr, said in an audio message received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), today, Thursday, that "the recording of Omicron infections in Iraq is expected because the mutator has spread in countries around the world and other neighboring countries, and it occurs as a result of non-compliance with preventive measures."
Al-Badr stressed, "the necessity of adhering to preventive measures and the need to increase the demand for vaccines, because they are the best way to confront the danger of Corona and its variants."
He also added that "the ministry has prepared thousands of beds to deal with any increase in injuries."
Earlier, the Ministry of Health announced that 5 cases of Omicron had been recorded for returning travelers.
The ministry said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "cases of the Omicron were recorded for a number of returnees from travel, through genetic tracking tests conducted by the Central Public Health Laboratory in Baghdad."
