Baghdad-INA
The Ministry of Planning (MOP) announced today, Friday, suggested plans for family planning, while ruling out the possibility of issuing a law that limits childbearing.
The ministry's spokesman, Abdul-Zahra Al-Hindawi, told the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "Iraq is now not ready to issue a law that limits childbearing, because of the social values that govern the Iraqi society."
Al-Hindawi added that "There are suggested programmes for t family planning and not limiting childbearing or offspring," noting that "family planning is intended to guarantee a decent life for children and to ensure the health of women."
It is noteworthy that the Ministry of Planning published, earlier, new statistics and percentages for (11) files related to women and the family in Iraq, including family planning.
