Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi confirmed on Wednesday, upon the end of combat missions of the international coalition and the completion of the exit of its troops.
"The Coalition has fully completed their combat role after transfer of personnel and material outside Iraq. Going forward, their role will be to advise and assist our security forces per the outcome of the Strategic Dialogue," Al-Kadhimi stated in a tweet followed by the Iraqi News Agency (INA).
He added, " We thank the leadership of the Coalition, it’s members, our partners and neighbors in combating Daesh and reaffirm that our security forces stand ready to defend our people,"
The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces concluded by saying, "Long live Iraq."
