The Ministry of Transport announced the launch of all allocations for the Grand Faw port for the current year, and the start of excavation work on the waterfront of the five docks.
The Director-General of the General Company for Iraqi Ports, Farhan Al-Fartousi, said, in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "the allocations were launched and the work began, as a directives of the directives and follow-up of the Minister of Transport, Nasser Hussein Bandar Al-Shibli, and that the works in the port projects, which took place at the beginning of the current year, are proceeding at a pace very good.”
Al-Fartousi added, "The five docks have a good transition with the entry of the rigs to the waterfront, after there was a strengthening of the seabed and a comprehensive lifting of mines from the port basin."
