The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research announced that Iraq has obtained a competitive position in the Global Knowledge Index.
The Ministry's Relations and Information Department stated in a statement today, Tuesday, that "Iraq has won an important competitive position in the Global Knowledge Index for the year 2021, which was launched in its fifth edition by the United Nations Development Program and the Mohammed bin Rashid Knowledge Foundation".
The statement added, "According to the approved indicators (https://www.knowledge4all.com/country-profile?CountryId=3), the higher education sector ranked 66th globally, with a score of 47.6, which is the highest assessment of the Iraqi state sectors related to knowledge.
Pointed out that "the Global Knowledge Index ranks countries by evaluating their knowledge-related sectors according to seven main indicators: pre-university education 15%, vocational and technical training and education 15%, higher education 15%, research development and innovation 15%, and information and communication technology 15%. The economy is 15%, and the enabling environment is 10%.
It is worth noting that this indicator relies in collecting its data and information on more than 40 institutions and a neutral global database such as UNESCO, the World Bank, the Economic Cooperation Organization, the International Labor Organization and other organizations.
