The Arab Atomic Energy Authority sent a request to Iraq to take a role in various Arab activities related to removing radioactive pollution.

The head of the commission, Salem Hamidi, said in a statement to Al-Iraqiya News, which was followed by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "the visit of the delegation of the Arab commission to Iraq is a protocol vist, and it came to see what the Iraqi experiences have reached in the field of getting rid of radioactive pollution."

He added, "Iraqi cadres managed to get rid of pollutants in the most polluted areas," calling on Iraq to "play a role in various Arab activities, being a pioneer in this field, whether in strategy, training courses, conferences or forums."
