Transport announces completion of 89% of Umm Qasr port project road

    The Ministry of Transport - General Company for Ports of Iraq announced today, Sunday, the completion of 89% of the exit road for the Umm Qasr port project.
    The ministry said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "the Ministry of Transport - the General Company for Iraqi Ports announced the start of casting the side quay and the final stages of concrete for the exit road within the project to develop the entrance and roads of the port of Umm Qasr and point out that the completion rates reached 89%."  
    The Director General of Ports, Dr. Farhan Al-Fartousi, said, according to the statement, according to the directives of the Transport Minister, Nasser Al-Shibli, that "the engineering and technical staff of the two ports companies and the implementation of transport projects have started casting the side docks (curber) for the exit road within the project to develop the entrance and roads of Umm Qasr ports with the required specifications within the resistance to high pressure, measuring 40 cm, with a height of 35 cm, and defining the systematic entrances to the gates of the northern port of Umm Qasr.
