The head of the National State Forces Alliance, Ammar al-Hakim, stressed today, Tuesday, that the next government must lead the country towards stability and prosperity.
The media office of the President of the National State Forces Alliance stated in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that " Al-Hakim received the Ambassador of the United States of America Matthew Tueller, and the two sides discussed developments in the political scene in Iraq and the region, and the results of the recent parliamentary elections, and bilateral relations between the two countries."
Al-Hakim renewed, "emphasizing the need to take all procedures and steps by the Independent High Electoral Commission for Elections and the Judiciary, which would enhance the confidence of the citizen and the political forces in the electoral process in a way that contributes to its transparency and reflects a positive image of democracy in Iraq."
He called on "the objecting political forces to adopt peaceful and legal procedures to claim their rights," stressing "the importance of the next Iraqi government being responsive to the aspirations of the Iraqi citizen and leading the country towards stability and prosperity by achieving comprehensive development."
