The Data from the National Health Commission of China showed that a total of 2.243 billion doses of coronavirus vaccines had been provided to the population, as of October 22.
It is noteworthy that Zhong Nanshan, a leading Chinese expert in respiratory diseases, had said earlier that China plans to vaccinate 80% of the population against the coronavirus by the end of the year.
Chinese authorities have previously approved four vaccines for mass use, including three developed by Beijing Zhongwei Xinkang Genetics Biotechnology Co Ltd, part of Sinovac, Wuhan Institute of Biological Research and China National Biotechnology Group.
