Moscow municipality announces 11-day of closure

Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin, said Thursday that the city will close all non - essential services from October 28 until November 7.

Sobyanin's announcement of the 11-day closure decision came after President Vladimir Putin ordered a week of paid leave nationwide at the end of the month, to curb the rapid spread of infection.

Russia reported 1,036 COVID-19 deaths in one day on Thursday, but officials warned that the worst was yet to come at a time when the rate of vaccinated citizens was only 35 percent.
