The hospital had received a patient suffering from severe abdominal pain. X-rays and medical examinations were conducted for him, which revealed the presence of severe infections in the abdomen and intestines. The doctors decided to open the operating room immediately to save the patient’s life.
Immediately, the surgical staff at Aswan University Hospital performed an operation, and extracted a foreign body from his stomach, which turned out to be a small mobile phone. The medical team extracted the phone from the patient’s stomach, and this is the first incident of its kind.
The patient confirmed that he swallowed the phone 6 months ago, and during the previous period the phone was inside his stomach, which led to the blocking of food and his feeling of severe stomach pain.
