Minister of Oil: The gas sector in the world requires more investments

    The Minister of Oil, Ihsan Abdul Jabbar Ismail, stressed today, Thursday, the need to increase investments and support for projects to develop the gas sector in the world .
     
    Ismail said in his speech during his participation in the work of the week of the World Energy Forum in Russia, which opened yesterday, and was followed by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "there is importance to regulate the global gas market, and to speed up the organization of mechanisms to achieve the required balance between supply and demand, by the producing countries. He called for "addressing the state of confusion in global markets as a result of the shortage of supplies by the producing countries, and a significant increase in demand."
     
    He stressed, "the need for gas-producing countries to benefit from the experience of "OPEC +" in realistic dealing with global production and consumption to address the challenges and crises they face."
     
    Ismail stressed, "Iraq has taken important steps in this regard, represented by attracting global investments to process associated gas and convert it into clean energy, as well as intensifying exploration operations in areas that contain hydrocarbon compositions, especially gaseous ones."
     
    On the sidelines of the conference, the Minister of Oil met with a number of oil and energy ministers, officials and personalities from a number of brotherly and friendly countries, as they discussed strengthening and developing bilateral relations to serve common interests .
     
    It is noteworthy that Russian President Putin inaugurated the work of the World Energy Week, which will be held for the period from 13-15 of this month, in the presence of a number of heads of state, energy ministers and heads of major international energy companies, which witnessed the expanded discussion session on the future of energy in the world, and plans to replace clean energy, And a discussion of the sharp rise in the price of gas in the world and Europe, and the most important factors and reasons that led to this, and the impact of this rise on the transformation plans for clean energy.
