Minister of Culture Hassan Nadhim issued a decision to dismiss an employee working in the ministry for participating in the normalization conference with Israel in Erbil.
"Minister of Culture issued a decision to dismiss the employee, Sahar Karim Abdul - Aali for participating in a conference on normalization with Israel,” ministry stated in a brief statement, followed by the Iraqi News Agency (INA).
Earlier, last Saturday, the Ministry of Culture announced that the employee had been referred for investigation.
The ministry said in a statement received by (INA), that it "decided to form an investigative committee regarding the participation of "Sahar Karim Al-Tai", an employee of the General Authority for Antiquities and Heritage, entitled (Senior researcher, fifth degree) in a conference on normalization with Israel that was held in the city of Erbil.
The ministry confirmed, "it was not aware of the behavior of the employee, who was presented by international and local media, as being the director of research in the ministry, which is contrary to the truth," noting that "the employee will be referred to the investigation in accordance with the laws and instructions in force,”
