BPA: Al-Kadhimi issues a directive regarding the presence of Iranian visitors exclusively at the Zurbatiya port

    Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi issued a directive regarding the presence of Iranian visitors exclusively at the Zurbatiya border crossing.

    A statement by the Border Ports Authority received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), today, Friday, stated that "the head of the Border Ports Authority, Major General Omar Adnan Al-Waeli, accompanied by the Vice-President of the Authority and the Director-General of the Operations and Plans Department, inspected the Zurbatiya border port," noting that "a field tour was conducted at the port." To see the flow of work, identify obstacles and find solutions to them.

    He continued, "The visit also included holding a meeting with the working departments to listen to their needs and urge them to make more efforts to improve the work situation of the port in terms of raising the level of trade exchange and controlling violations of all kinds." 

    The statement indicated that "the most important stop in the visit was to move to the Iranian side, as directed by Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi, to discuss the presence of many Iranian visitors inside the port, and after obtaining his approval, it was agreed to take care of them and facilitate their matter according to the law."
