Oil Minister Ihsan Abdul Jabbar Ismail stressed on Thursday, the importance of speeding up investment in natural gas.
"Minister Ihsan Abdul Jabbar Ismail met with his counterpart, UAE Minister of Energy and Infrastructure Suhail Al Mazroui, on the sidelines of his participation in the "Gastech" exhibition and conference in Dubai," the ministry said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA).
"It is important to speed up the investment of natural gas and increase production and marketing by producing and exporting countries, in order to keep pace with the growth of global demand and increase consumption, and imposes this responsibility on all, which requires more cooperation, coordination and partnership between producing and consuming countries and companies investing and developing," he said, praising "bilateral relations between Baghdad and Abu Dhabi, which are witnessing steady growth in all fields, including the oil and energy sector."
On his part, UAE Minister of Energy and Infrastructure Suhail al-Mazroui praised Iraq's "role in promoting bilateral relations, openness and cooperation with brotherly and friendly countries, and the attention it attaches to the clean and renewable energy sector."
It’s worth mentioning that the work and events of The Gastech Conference and Exhibition, the world's largest event specializing in the fields of natural gas, liquefied gas, hydrogen and energy, opened in Dubai on Wednesday, with the participation of some 15,000 experts, decision makers and specialists and will run until September 23.
